High school sweethearts, Katie and Travis, have been together since the 11th grade! Travis proposed to Katie on a cruise to Cozumel. “When we walked into our room for the first time the room was decorated with lots of goodies including a bottle of champagne, roses, and chocolate covered strawberries. I turned around to look at him and he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. I said Yes!
The elegance and historical ambiance of The Hotel Galvez made them want to choose this particular wedding venue. The history of Galveston’s Hotel Galvez is romantic. The Victorian era Hotel Galvez was named after the Spanish Colonial governor, Bernardo de Galvez, who first chartered the Texas Gulf Coast and for whom the city of Galveston was named.
There is a rich, vintage feel to the Hotel Galvez, and it has gorgeous settings for wedding photography. You know when you’ve found the right wedding venue; it just feels right.
150 friends and relatives joined the celebration on their wedding day. Katie borrowed several sentimental items for her memorable day: her Grandmother’s locket necklace, a bow that her mother had taken off of Katie’s baby dress and her mother-in-law’s Great-grandfather’s wedding ring from the 1800s.
These special items were either sewn or pinned underneath Katie’s new ivory wedding gown! When Travis and Katie saw one another on their wedding day, they both felt complete, loved and excited! Isn’t that the perfect way to feel on your wedding day?
SGI Photography was happy to be there to capture those wonderful moments for Katie and Travis so that they can continue to enjoy their wedding day and pass the exciting moments on to their future family as they continue to create their own history!
