Galveston Wedding Photographer

Megan and Joshua were both born and raised on Galveston Island. They’d known who one another was from passing through the halls of high school, but didn’t officially meet until years later at a local hangout spot in Galveston.

The Proposal

“We went on a family trip to the Bahamas in July 2018. My mother had a photographer take family photos of us all on the beach at sunset. Josh and I were the last to take a couple’s shot and that’s when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! The majority of our immediate family was on the trip and everyone knew what was about to happen. Of course, I cried, he cried, family cried.  It was beautiful and we were in paradise.”

The Venue
When it was time to search for a wedding venue, Megan recalled visiting Garten Verein in Galveston as a child.
“I remember as a little girl attending an event there with my mother and thinking how beautiful it looked. We wanted to get married somewhere historical with meaning, and where better than the Garten Verein.” SGI Photography especially enjoys covering celebrations in this unique historic wedding venue, and was honored to be Megan and Joshua’s wedding photographer.
