Courtyard on St. James Place Houston wedding photography
The story of Jenny and Jeff
You never know when you’re going to meet ‘the one’. Jenny and Jeff were set up on a blind date by mutual friends and it was the start of something very good! It wasn’t long before their lives were intertwined. Being with one another made the vision of their future life together much clearer.
While babysitting their friend’s little boy together they stayed at the Tremont House in Galveston. Jeff proposed to Jenny that Saturday morning during breakfast and little Ben eventually became their ring bearer!
SGI Photography loved working for this special couple! They are strong individuals, but united – their love is solid as a rock! In spite of challenges and change, they showed that by being flexible and loving each other through the ups and downs, things can turn out even better than planned. Their wedding date had to be changed from November to September, and the location from Galveston to Houston. The Courtyard on St. James Place was contacted by Jenny’s mother with only a two-week notice, and the venue was available!
Wedding Day Details
150 friends and family members joined Jenny and Jeff at The Courtyard on St. James Place to celebrate their love and marriage! There was “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue”; a diamond and amethyst (something old) pendant that Jenny’s father gave her mother when she was born, her mother’s diamond earrings, borrowed; Dallas Mavericks blue garter, and Jenny’s new shoes and wedding dress!
Jeff was absolutely blown away when he first saw Jenny walking down the aisle. She looked strikingly beautiful and “it took my breath away!” He insists that by not seeing Jenny for a few days before the wedding, it made everything that much more special.
Jenny’s exquisite wedding gown was Enzoani “Ghislaine”: a strapless A-line, soft sweetheart with scalloped neckline with beaded appliqués on an empire waist, and a tulle overlaid full skirt with lace scalloped hemline.
Their friend’s son, Ben, was the ring bearer. He did a really great job and was a perfect little gentleman. Ben brought the ring pillow to the groom. Everyone thought it was so cute. Jenny and Jeff were so happy to have Ben in their wedding.
The bride’s cake was chocolate with raspberry filling covered in white buttercream designed like the lace of her dress complete with buttons down the side of the cake! The groom’s cake was yellow cake with chocolate frosting in a stucco-like texture with a Dallas Mavericks logo on the top.
Floral bouquets were designed by Island Flowers of Galveston, TX and the reception floral decor was provided by Flowers By Lisa of Houston, TX.
Jeff and Jenny’s words of wisdom: The day will feel like it is over before it begins. It goes by so quickly, so enjoy every moment. Make sure that the two of you step away and have a private moment in the midst of the chaos to relish in the fact that you just got married! Definitely consider being traditional by not seeing each other for a couple of days before the wedding. Seeing each other on opposite ends of the aisle will be worth the wait, we promise.
Postponed Honeymoon Trip: Here’s an idea for the ultra-busy modern couple. Consider just an overnight celebration after the wedding, and save the 7 to 10-day honeymoon trip for a time when your schedules are less hectic and you can really enjoy the experience!
Our love, prayers and best wishes to Jenny and Jeff. Thank you for letting us be a part of your amazing wedding day!
